Founded by filmmaker Dan Brezgel and inspired by his son Calvin — a child with profound disabilities and a Make-A-Wish recipient — Mission: 1 Billion was born out of personal hardship and transformed into a movement of healing and hope. Co-led by longtime creative mentor Rex Sikes, this project brings together storytelling and service like never before.
Behind the scenes, the nonprofit Heartspire Foundation trains and mentors young digital creators from underserved communities to tell stories that matter. The films they help create are launched globally through Mission: 1 Billion — and the proceeds go back into helping families in need.

His son Calvin was born blind, deaf, and medically complex — yet full of life and love. Dan’s journey with Calvin sparked the idea to create films that could do more than entertain — they could heal, fund, and empower.
